Meet...That Furry Face!
This morning I woke up with two pitbulls in my bed. We slept in a pile, paws and snouts digging into my back, legs and face. Someone had a great dream, a real cat-chaser, and I'll have a bruise soon from the paw I took to the neck. Despite the late-night assault and practical paralysis that is the result of two giant beasts using me as a pillow, nothing makes me happier than falling asleep listening to those soft little doggy snores... except maybe waking up to wet kisses and my little bubba trying to snuggle deeper under the covers.
If you're here, then you love your own furry faces as much as I love mine. You know the joy of snores, purrs, kisses, tail wags and whiskers tickling your cheek. You also know the struggle of caring for a being that doesn't speak your language, and who may not care what you have to say anyway.
Over the last year or so I've been growing That Furry Face and shaping it into something that I hope reflects my passion and love for pets and their contribution to our lives. My customers, their animals and their stories have been my favorite part of running this business. I love hearing about your adoptions, the stray dog sagas, the memories of childhood pets, and tales of cats that truly had nine lives. I love being a part of this undercurrent of pure love and joy that flows between humans and their pets. I imagine all of the pet portraits that are hanging on walls, being worn on shirts and smiling from coffee mugs all around the world. It makes me so happy to know that my own little rescue, Brock, inspired all of this. RESCUE. Please. Save a life.
I've had the goal of sharing your stories for a long time now and things have finally fallen into place. My (human) best friend Kelly will be taking charge of the blog, I will be popping in occasionally with fun new treats. Broccoli and his friends will pose for adorable photos, as usual.
