How do I get a portrait of my pet?
Getting your own custom portrait is simple! First, purchase a portrait from thatfurryface.com or from the Etsy shop, then email your photo to britney@thatfurryface.com. You will receive an email with an attached .jpeg when your portrait is complete. You can download your portrait and print it like you would any photo. You can also print your portrait onto gift items like coffee cups, t-shirts, tote bags, stickers or canvases! Don't want to print it yourself? The Etsy shop is full of items we can make for you!
What is a printable portrait?
The entire portrait process is done by email, which means the completed product is an emailed .jpeg file. The portraits are “print-at-home”, which is why there is no shipping cost.
What size is the printable portrait?
You will be printing the portrait yourself, so I can make it any size you need! I recommend deciding what you want to do with your portrait before requesting a specific size. The standard size is 8”x10” if you do not have a preference.
What is a .jpeg?
A .jpeg is an image file that acts like any other photo on your phone or computer. They are easy to print and easy to share! You can also request a .pdf or .png, check out your printing options and let me know what format you need!
Can That Furry Face print items for me?
Yes! Check out our Etsy Shop or send an e-mail to britney@thatfurryface.com and tell me what you would like to have made.
What photo should I send?
Choose your favorite! A straight-on, close-up face shot will produce the best results. Keep in mind, the more detail I see, the more detail I can include! Please do not send photos that have had color filters applied.
What if my pet is all black or all white?
That’s ok! I will use shades of grey to create contrast. It also helps if you can choose a smiley-face, tongue out photo so there will be some pops of pink. Take a look at the portrait gallery for examples!
How many times am I allowed to print my portrait?
You can print your portrait as many times as you like as long as you are not using the image for commercial purposes.
How do you make the portraits?
I create them in Photoshop, but I am not simply altering the photo you provide using filters. I am drawing shapes on top of the photo, essentially tracing the image. The sizing of your pet’s face and features are replicated exactly in the portrait. If you send a photo of your pet looking to the side, the portrait will be at the same angle. As I create the shapes I take colors directly from the photo, so it is important to send examples with good lighting. Everything is done digitally so there is no raw material cost or shipping expenses, which means portrait prices are low! If you have any questions about the process, please don't hesitate to ask!
I am an international customer, how do I place an order?
International orders for printable illustrations can be placed through the Etsy Shop. If you are looking to get a product, like a pillow or canvas, just send us an email and we'll let you know if it's possible to get it to you.
